Trasporti Romagna boosts operational efficiency and saves 75% on installation with Samsara's plug-and-play solution

PROBLEM

Established in 1923, Trasporti Romagna is an Italian logistics and transport company renowned for its quality of service, integrity and safety. The company was looking to increase the efficiency, security and reliability of its fleet operations in order to carve out a larger market share and strengthen its competitive advantage. To achieve this, Trasporti Romagna needed to replace its legacy telematics system, which offered poor visibility and usability, and lacked integration of dash cams with the operations platform.

HOW THEY SOLVED IT

Samsara front-facing AI dash cams and vehicle gateways have been installed into Trasporti Romagna’s fleet of 6,000 vehicles. The easy to use, plug-and-play products enabled fast installation, with a cost of fitting that was 75% less than the legacy solution.

The open and fully integrated Samsara platform integrates seamlessly with the in-vehicle products, enabling access to IoT data that is giving the business real-time visibility of the fleet operation. Remote tachograph management is also enabled, allowing Trasporti Romagna to analyse live tacho data.

 RESULTS

Using Samsara’s actionable, real-time data, Trasporti Romagna has reduced vehicle downtime and vehicle maintenance, which has increased the overall reliability and safety of its fleet. In-cab alerts have helped improve driver safety habits and prevent accidents. When incidents do happen, Trasporti Romagna has been able to quickly exonerate drivers against false claims with the help of the high-definition video footage.

 Real-time visibility across the entire fleet has also allowed Trasporti Romagna to automate reporting for compliance, payroll and other legal and administrative requirements, further cutting down cost and the burden on its team.
