About Camera ID Technology

By combining dash cam footage and advanced machine learning, the Samsara dashboard can now learn to assign drivers automatically if you obtain any legally required consent and activate the Camera ID feature. To do so, we rely on facial recognition information derived from images of drivers. Our cameras are installed in customer-controlled environments, and we rely only on images provided by the customer for their own employees. We never disclose facial recognition information other than for the limited purposes described in our Terms of Service and at all times in compliance with applicable law. Facial recognition information is used only to assign drivers to trips in a specific organization and to improve our services.

Samsara keeps facial recognition information for a customer no longer than necessary to provide its Camera ID service to that customer. To delete facial recognition information stored by Samsara, contact customer support.
