Shortly after deploying Samsara’s Video-Based Safety solution, RCKC operators who had set up a routine lane closure to perform road maintenance activities witnessed a civilian vehicle dangerously disobey their traffic regulators, ignoring commands to stop the vehicle. They were able to quickly and easily retrieve footage from multiple Samsara AI Dash Cams installed in RCKC trucks at the scene and share the footage with the authorities, who identified the civilian via their license plate and issued them a citation, helping protect the RCKC operators. Sharing this footage at their safety meeting illustrated the value of the dash cams, and driver buy-in quickly followed.

Now, the RCKC relies on Samsara AI Dash Cams to coach drivers on safe habits, reducing risky behaviors such as speeding, rolling through stops, and harsh braking while encouraging friendly competition with Driver Safety Scores. The RCKC deployed Site Visibility to monitor the front entrance, gate, parking lot, and truck scales at a new facility, helping prevent trespassing and theft. Shortly after deploying the cameras, they received a motion alert via the Samsara Sites App during a weekend when there shouldn’t have been anyone onsite.
