Samsara has announced an expansion of its integration efforts with vehicle manufacturer Stellantis through Mobilisights – the Stellantis Data as a Service Company – giving businesses across Europe seamless access to vehicle data without the need for additional hardware.

The agreement – which covers all of Stellantis’ brands including Citroën, Peugeot, Opel/Vauxhall, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Jeep – takes effect in January 2025 and covers all vehicles including EVs and commercials manufactured after 2024, as well as selected models from 2018–2024.

Thanks to this cloud-to-cloud integration – which harnesses built-in telematics hardware – fleet managers now have instant access to a wide range of telematics data including GPS location, mileage, fuel levels, and more.

This European integration expansion is yet another milestone in Samsara’s journey and its continued investment in OEM partnerships to simplify fleet management and enable better-informed decision-making via real-time data-driven insights for businesses across Europe.

OEM agreement has Europe-wide impact

The collaboration is significant in a number of ways, not least because Stellantis is the second largest automaker in Europe accounting for 17% of vehicle sales across Europe.

That means customers such as rental companies, ride-share, and other distributed fleets will be able to plug any new Stellantis vehicle into Samsara’s platform without installing any hardware. And since the integration applies to vehicles sold in Europe, it’s likely to appeal to those operations with a pan-European footprint or a presence in multiple countries.

It also means that those with large fleets and a high turnover of vehicles can save thousands in installation costs. Why? Because adding a new vehicle to a fleet is done simply by adding the Vehicle Identity Number (VIN) to the Samsara dashboard and pressing ‘enter’.

Thanks to Mobilisights and Samsara,   Stellantis vehicles equipped with an embedded telematics solution can now connect to the Samsara platform remotely, eliminating the need for physical hardware installation, significantly reducing deployment time, and enabling zero-touch activation.

And since there is no hardware to install, it is tamper-proof, which makes vehicle recovery in the event of theft much more straightforward.

Regardless of whether vehicles are connected via an OEM integration – or by using a Samsara vehicle gateway – all benefit from being part of Samsara’s connected operations platform providing access to data insights and all via a single pane of glass.

Samsara has a successful track record of successful integrations across Europe with the likes of Ford Pro, Volvo Construction Equipment, Caterpillar, John Deere, and Thermo King, as well as a large number of others globally.

What’s clear is that this collaboration between Samsara and Mobilisights  marks a significant step forward in simplifying fleet management and enhancing operational efficiency for businesses across Europe.

By eliminating the need for additional hardware – and providing instant access to critical vehicle data – this integration is yet another step forward in empowering fleet managers to make smarter, data-driven decisions. As Samsara continues to expand its network of OEM integrations, this agreement further solidifies its position as a leader in connected operations.
