The most impactful operations workflows aren’t found in a box—they’re built for a specific environment. As a product-led team, we recognize that for application developers, data engineers, and system integrators, the 'last mile' is the hardest. Fragmented integrations create a brittle mess of heavy maintenance and thin documentation, whether syncing staffing, maintenance, or logistics.

Samsara is able to accelerate this velocity within the last mile, with measured success in verified feature adoption. In just the last year, Samsara digitized more than 300 million workflows. Our platform maximizes team efficiency by leveraging an ecosystem of 350+ integrations to streamline core operational tools. This extensibility is the strategic differentiator: Our platform is engineered for agility, delivering new operational value in weeks, not months. We are now building upon this foundation, launching the latest platform advancements—including the new SDK, App health metrics, and Functions—to provide developers and data engineers with the practical features required to accelerate operational value.

Technical extensibility: Our established foundation

An extensible platform is not an empty claim; it's the technical foundation for accelerating deployment speed and reducing operational risk. For IT leaders, this means systems engineered for security, compliance, and long-term support, ensuring interoperability across your ecosystem. For developers and data engineers, this translates to APIs, code libraries, and technical assets with clear documentation that make integration fast, predictable, and simple to maintain.

Our foundation rests on three concrete pillars of technical enablement:

  • Unified operational data access: A comprehensive set of REST APIs covering Telematics, Safety, Compliance, Maintenance, and Workflows. These APIs power our 350+ certified integration ecosystem, allowing partners and customers to extend the platform and ensuring all developers have access to unified, organized operational data.

  • Real-time, event-driven data flow: Time-sensitive data delivered through high-volume Kafka streams and event-driven Webhooks enabling reliable, custom workflow integration.

Code reliability and maintainability: Official code libraries and versioned technical documentation that lower maintenance cost and mitigates the security risk associated with brittle, in-house API integrations.

New toolkit for extensibility: Practical features and status updates

For our developers and data engineers, these features translate directly into faster deployment, streamlined code maintenance, and rapid, safe experimentation.

Samsara SDKs: Toolkits for efficiency and speed

The official, open-source Samsara SDKs have reached General Availability (GA), providing a natively supported, fully versioned, and documented path to interact with the Samsara APIs. The SDKs are available in TypeScript, Java, C#, and Python.

  • For developers: The SDK abstracts API complexity by managing retries, pagination, async operations, and concurrency. Based on internal benchmarks using our HOS violation report, this removes up to 70% of boilerplate code, resulting in more reliable integrations and significantly lower debugging time.

  • For IT leaders: The versioned, open-source (MIT-licensed) SDK ensures API consistency, security, and auditability, mitigating risk and ensuring the reliability of custom code assets.

Kafka Connector: Real-time streaming made simple

The Samsara Kafka Connector (GA) provides a fully supported, secure, and flexible path for real-time data streaming. With OAuth 2.0, multi-cloud event delivery, and configurable schemas, this release enables modern workflows without the need for custom middleware. Kafka events can now be delivered directly into leading cloud platforms—including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud—making it easier to integrate with existing data infrastructure.

  • For developers: Stream Samsara data into Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, AWS MSK, or Azure Event Hubs without writing integration code. With native OAuth 2.0, configurable schemas, and direct delivery into AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, you can build real-time, event-driven workflows directly in your existing stack.

  • For IT and data leaders: Adopt a secure, supported connector that delivers reliable, continuous data streaming across cloud environments. Direct integration with AWS MSK, Azure Event Hubs, and Google Cloud Pub/Sub—combined with enterprise authentication and configurable schemas—reduces long-term maintenance effort and enables consistent, scalable data pipelines across your cloud ecosystem.

Marketplace: Discover, deploy, and optimize with confidence

We’re evolving the Samsara App Marketplace into a smarter, faster, and more reliable ecosystem, helping customers seamlessly discover the right integrations, deploy them quickly, and maintain peak performance over time.

  • App health metrics (Closed Beta): Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integrations in real time with a centralized mission control dashboard—featuring API performance visibility (request volume, 4xx/5xx errors), searchable webhook logs for rapid debugging, and lifecycle insights (adoption, churn, version distribution) to reduce MTTR and improve reliability.

  • Faster app updates: Accelerate iteration with a <30-minute SLA for app updates that don’t require permission changes, enabling developers to ship fixes and enhancements quickly while delivering a more responsive, up-to-date customer experience.

  • Smarter discovery and recommendations: Help customers find the right integrations faster with personalized, organization-specific app recommendations (based on industry, fleet type, region, and peer usage) and highlight newly added apps (within the last 90 days) with a “New” badge to drive discovery and adoption.

Functions: Build custom business logic directly on the platform

Samsara Functions enables developers and partners to run custom Python code directly within the Connected Operations Cloud, no infrastructure required. Build, deploy, schedule, and trigger custom logic directly from the dashboard.

Functions is now in Open Beta, with strong early momentum: usage has grown from 2 million executions in Q4 to more than 6.75 million today, and 700+ scenarios, up from 400. We’ve added SFTP access to Functions storage, enabling secure, file-based integrations with legacy systems that don’t support APIs , and introduced automatic failure alerting, allowing users to notify specific recipients when functions fail.
