Fleet Management: To support their net-zero emissions goal by 2050, DHL partners with Samsara to help facilitate EV deployment. Samsara’s suite of electrification tools simplify integrating and managing a mixed fuel fleet while keeping existing operations running smoothly.  

“With Samsara, we chose a technology partner that is ahead of the curve, with a clear vision and a focus on EVs. When our EVs come online, we don’t have to add an additional vendor. That readiness is going to enable us to move faster in reaching our electrification goals,” said Jennifer Miller, Vice President of Integrated Transportation at DHL.

Video Surveillance: Our Video-Based Safety solution provides DHL with powerful new AI detections for drowsy driving and Lane Departure Warnings. They innovatively use these alerts together to more efficiently verify instances of drowsy driving—if a driver is not maintaining their lane and they’ve received a Drowsiness Detection alert, it’s likely that the driver needs to rest. 

“When a driver shows signs of fatigue, we get them off the road to take a break or send out a relief driver—those are all accidents avoided and lives saved,” said David Russeau, Systems Operations Manager at DHL.

Asset Management: With our Smart Trailer solution, DHL operators have complete visibility into trailer location, cargo, and temperature—all within the same platform they use for safety and telematics. Our enhanced solution offers new trailer health features, including Power Monitoring, ATIS Monitoring, trailer Mismatch Alert, and new partnerships with Continental TPMS and SKF for wheel-end sensors. 

“Samsara’s trailer Mismatch Alerts help ensure the right driver is using the right equipment. By integrating Samsara with Ortec, we can automatically verify tractor and trailer assignments. Ortec assigns the correct tractor and trailer, then pings Samsara every five minutes to confirm location and compliance. If a mismatch occurs, it alerts us immediately, helping to prevent errors and improve tracking,” said Miller. 

Fleet Maintenance: DHL closed communication gaps and accelerated maintenance response times—keeping their vehicles on the road serving customers. Powered by our reliable diagnostic data, real-time alerts, and automated maintenance workflows, they maximize vehicle uptime and minimize repair costs. 

“It’s huge for us that we narrowed our communication gap when it comes to diagnostics and repairs. Follow-through is significantly faster,” said Fred Matthews, Senior Manager of Safety at DHL.
